Résumé de l'éditeur

Disney Lost and Found is a deluxe celebration of the visual development of shorts, scenes, and entire feature-length films created by the Walt Disney Animation Studios that for one reason or another never made it to the screen. Although these scenes and films have never been viewed by an audience, the conceptual artwork remains engaging and interesting. In fact, it continues to serve as inspiration for artists currently working on films and shorts.

Lost and Found features three sections. The first one focuses on animation drawings, story sketches, and concept art created for scenes and that were cut from shorts and features, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and The Rescuers. The second and third sections focus on one film each - Wild Life and My Peoples - two full-length feature films that for a variety of reasons were never completed.

Author Charles Solomon provides historical context and insight into the choices that were made by filmmakers to omit various scenes from the films and shorts. He also offers an overview about how and why Wild Life and My Peoples ended up on the shelf.

Disney fans and art enthusiasts alike will delight in this beautifully illustrated book, which looks at an untold piece of Disney animation history.

An internationally respected critic and historian of animation, Charles Solomon has written on the subject for The New York Times, TV Guide, Newsweek (Japan), Rolling Stone, the Los Angeles Times, Modern Maturity, Film Comment, the Hollywood Reporter, the Manchester Guardian, Amazon.com and National Public Radio's Day to Day.
